Currently there's Academies and Centres Of Excellence, the system bought in by that genius and authority on development of skillful young players Howard Wilkinson.

The new systen will bring in four tiers, the bottom of which will only require clubs to run an under-18s team.

The top tier, Cat1, will require a minimum of ?2m P/A funding by the club, but the PL will add to that with a further .75m. Obviously the club has to meet certain criteria to become Cat1, but I think it's safe to say we should meet them, it is only Cat1 teams that will no longer have to adhere to the 90-minute rule.

I don't know the details of Cat2/3.
