Ward would be a liability at this level and Whitbread just lacks any pace at all

IMO he'll buy in january. He's hardly going to say he's gonna buy someone in, which indirectly is saying those currently in team aren't good enough. It might be true, but lambert is more clever than to knock the morale of those in the current starting XI.
