referring to a black person as "negrito" in Uruguay isn't remotely racist.
However, using the diminuitive "ito" is slightly disparaging as it suggests he's small or unimportant, which is very clearly what he meant to do.
Although well meaning, this racism stuff has got totally out of hand now imo
