I just have experience of this with mobile phone contracts. "you get one month free,

you may as well have it for a month, cos it's free"

Then you get your second bill, and there's 6.99 taken off

Then you ring up and say that you didn't agree to the insurance, so they say "oh, well we'll take it off, but you need to get a months notice", so that's another 6.99

So the 'free' bit, is actually many insurance companies making nearly ?15 off new mobile phone contracts, without actually having any new custom
