because

if we are destined to end up in a relegation scrap, then the games that you've got the best chance of getting points from are home games vs the weakest teams. Point is, we've had quite a few of those already.

Whereas we've got a lot of home games to come vs strongest teams, and away games vs weaker teams. If our form dips, then those games will be tougher.

On the same lines - given the fixtures we've had, I'm not sure we're many points ahead of what we would need to have got so far to stay up. Even though we're 9th, and the points haven't really come when and where you might have expected.
