Fair enough, opinions innit.
I must admit when I first went there it took me a long time to get used to the people/culture. It is/they can be quite insular. The longer I was there the better it became though. Far too much to soak up in a few days I think. That's the problem with the modern "city break". I'm sure there are other cities that are stunning when you first visit them but then there's not much that lies beneath the surface so get quite boring. Muenchen is the opposite in my opinion, although I am biased as I had an amazing year there!
