You must give the other person opportunity to be heard or listened though?

I just don't get how someone thinks it can be productive in the long term, to communicate without investing any time with the subject they're talking to

I often see the disappointment on his face when me, or others kind of admit defeat by not even giving an opinion. It's cos we know the initial first burst of our opinion, will be countered by a lot more of his views

Just bizarre, and weirdly, social events here are non existent, because after the suggestion of doing something, you kind of think "yeah, nice, free drink and food, night out, wait, we'll have to listen to x all night won't we?"
