Gary Hooper

A gamble, certainly.

Quick and strong, despite being under 6' 0".
Did it for Scunthorpe with relative ease, has done so again for Celtic-though that doesn't mean anything of course.

Can't see anything of quality and proven ability being available for that sort of money. The step up for strikers seems to be enormous-Everton are short of forwards FFS,. but they sold Beckford when it became clear he couldn't cut it.

However-I don't think we haved strikers who aren't necc good enough-I think its a matter of confidence. It isn't a lack of ability that has seem Morison and Pilks miss chances this season so far, its confidence, once they 'know' they belong and can stick it past a Hart or Cech as easily as they did a Smithies or a Stockdale, the goals will come.

And Loz is correct, IF we spend, a Euro player-Dutch, German, Scandinavian maybe the best chance, but, although PL has the nous to nurture a good player, where's our scouting network in Europe and do we even have one-we haven't even replaced Ewan Chester yet.
