i only 'swim' a couple of times a year
(where swimming involves mucking around with the Scrampton Jnrs at Centre Parcs or the local kids pool)
and have tended to wear contact lenses and normal goggles - not recommended by opticians though...
a quick google though and prescription goggles are looking suprisingly cheap User Posted Link
i know i wouldn't get an exact prescription at that price, but it'd do for the small amount of swimming i do - and i really, really do hate the feeling of not being able to see more than 3 foot in front of my nose that not wearing glasses at all gives me
