Ok well he was an excellent player for us in a very decent side
which achieved 3rd place in the Premier League, the following season he became manager with us on the brink of relegation and we lost 4 out 5 games (with some bad luck on the way) to get relegated. The fault for this was really with Chase (evil ex-chairman who nearly killed the club) and partly John Deehan as well who took over from Walker with us in 8th Position around early January but we did sell some key players and lost Gunny to injury.
The next season we started really well under Martin O'Neill but he fell out with Chase after he discovered Chase had lied to him over transfer fees avaliable. We were 2nd when O'Neill left for Leicester and Megson took over. Megson in this spell was again pretty tactically naive and seemed not able to motivate the players. However he was learning. 5 wins in 32 games was his overall record I think.
Not really sure how relevant his spell at Norwich was to your situation now though.

- Well. Manager wise, he was on a hiding to nothing here, downward spiral (NCFC) - pants, Sep 27, 18:35:26
- As a manager now. It appears his style either works and the players work with him (NCFC) - Brandonio, Sep 27, 18:42:03
