I'm sorry, thats just patronising.

What is his or her job?
I can normally manage to catch a train and other forms of transport and manage to get there, on my own, unassisted, or without the need for supervision or law enforcement.

Likewise, I will tend to talk, eat and sleep when and where I choose, as well as be responsible for getting on and off the bloody thing.
What does the Steward do?
In the days of yore when I did the buses and big Duncan ran the show, there were blankets and thermos in abundance but no bloody nanny steward!
"Gus" who? Don't tell me, he's been going for 45 years and is power mad??
