If you earn ?10k then you pay - PAYE ?505 and NI ?332.64 Total deduction of ?837.64

If you then earn another ?10k you will pay PAYE ?2000 on that extra ?10k plus ?1,200 in extra NI

so you earn ?20k - total deductions would be PAYE ?2,505 and NI ?1,532.64 - Total ?4,037.64

In conclusion ....of the extra ?10k you would need to save ?3,200 of it.
