Dunno about over there but deal with have with Apple is that you can SIM unlock any

iPhone yourself now, just by doing the following:

Put it into iTunes with a SIM of the provider it is SIMlocked to. Set it up, etc.

Then eject it, take out the SIM and put in a SIM from any other provider but NOT the one it is SIMlocked to.

Then plug it back into iTunes, and you'll get the option to SIMunlock it. Once done, it's done once and for all.
