Offered an interview at short notice yesterday with Cancer Research UK based in London for 11am today. Thought "great!".

Got up this morning, taxi down there ?6. Went to ticket office armed with young persons railcard to get the 8am train. Expected the fare to be about ?20ish on the day, as it is usually, roughly ?15 if i do it in advance. Anyway, got to the guy and asked for the ticket.

"49.95"

"I'm sorry? I do have a railcard"

"It would be 67.90 if you didn't"

I just left! Taxi back, further ?6. These f**kers are going to get it as soon as their lines open. Gonna tell them that I simply could not afford ?70, cost me a job, plus out of pocket in taxi ride down.
