No not all, mistakes are mistakes, still puts pressure on the defence regardless of result

In 09/10 Ben Foster made mistakes against Arsenal and Man City both games which Man u won, didn't make a difference did it? Fergie showed him the door. Reputation means nothing when it's not being backed up. Look at Paul Robinson, he had 40 plus England caps and had played in big European games but had shocking form between 07-08. Tottenham didn't stick with him despite his past exploits did they?

Never like to see a young keeper fail but the next half dozen games are going to be a big test on his mental strength. If De Gea flops he won't be the first foreign import with a big rep to do so will he? He could face a long spell on the bench which won't be good for his development.
