That's hardly a miracle. However, what WOULD be fantastic would be...
...to have a fully functional home / portable stereo unit which enabled you to download straight from the internet, say over a wi-fi connection.
So, you'd have your ADSL / cable modem plugged into a Wireless router and this thing would just look like a stereo with a small screen (maybe a PDA thing which doubled as remote control) and allowed you to download (for a fee of course) anything you fancied listening to. Of course this thing would have the hard disk from hell.
On the other hand, how about a different revenue model ?
Users pay a flat rate every month and there is no hard disk - you can just choose playlists which are downloaded real time (with superfast 20MB ADSL connections). Then the music suppliers pay the royalties a la radio stations.
Right I'm gonna shut up now. Geek.
