Are Leicester crazy with all their spending?...... I say NO!
I have been looking at the numbers and the risk reward.
Lets say they spend 20-30 million NET (probably 15 million+ more than anyone else) and it gives them 80% chance of promotion.
When the Thai owners took over the club in 2010 it was valued on the basis of 39 million overall
As we have seen by the recent report of 100 million of 69% of QPR the value of the club goes through the roof when you hit the EPL
So for a 20-30 million investment
They would get a 100 million value boost of the club.
They would also get a min of 90 million in PL payments which is the major reason a clubs value is boosted.
Doesnt look so crazy if you give yourself 60-80% chance of getting promotion!
Their whole strategy is NOT long term.
They want to get promoted NOW which is why they probably inquired about Holt.
They see him as the prefect option NOW at a quarter of the price of Shane Long.
Its interesting that McNally didnt deny there had been an offer for Holt.
He just said we havnt accepted a bid for Holt.
