It absolutely isn't bollocks. Not that you shouldn't sleep but should be woken up every

now and again depending on the severity (half hour, one hour, two hours).

The reason for this is that if there is a bleed you are unable to detect the quite obvious symptoms in somebody who is asleep and in just a few hours it can escalate into coma or worse.

I've done quite a few courses on concussion due to my coaching of poof rugby, two of them two-day courses, and spent 7 years living with / married to a doctor who always said the same and treated me the same when I was concussed so I am very surprised at him saying that.
