I have a 500mb in my iphone
Went off the iphone 24 month contract in May. I use it to/from work and when out for twittering and emails plys some www-ing. I've used under 250mb each month so far.
I use the wifi at home and there is one at work which works half the time.
As long a you don't download loads of big files over the air you will probably be fine.
