year but the best injury avoider is to migrate from the old school static stretches to dynamic stretches. It is really bad to start stretching a cold muscle. But very very common. and even more to do so, especially if you have them bouncing the muscle, and then do explosive drills or exercises. It is asking for trouble. Dynamic stretching followed by conditioning is fine and a valuable exercise at this time of year.
