my bestest goal ever was also from a corner...
at colman road school ground, sunday league, playing for eaton rangers circa 1983, cant remember who against......
played left back, strong left foot, shyte with my right....
stood just outside the penalty area, to the left, in a left midfield holding position as our left sided midfielder was on the 6 yard box when we had a corner.
didnt see who headed the ball out following the corner, just that it came my way.... it was about a 50-50 as a defender also rushed to the ball.... I swung my left foot as hard asI could, I was either going to hit the ball HARD or break the defenders leg! Luckily I caught the ball and t**tted it...... I didnt see what happened, and started jogging backwards to then realise my team mates were running over to congratulate me.... one then told me my "shot" had gone through a crowd of players so hard, one defender even dived out of the way! The ball went straight into the top right corner, brooking-esque. Fucking brilliant. We won the game 11-0.
