Although it's not a Norfolk term---
my Great Granny Green, long ago deceased, had an old woollen hat which she used to put on in chilly (and even warm,) weather, when going outside to hang washing on the linen line. This was what she called her "peargon' owt" (pegging out) hat.
As I say, not a solely Norfolk term, but always makes me smile when I think of it.
