What should I do with my life?

I'm very bored and frankly miserable in my job, need to earn enough to keep my horde of little anglers in foie gras (so can't go all New Age and take a year off travelling/Writing The Obligatory Rubbish Novel), have read "What Color(sic) is your Parachute" and the like, done countless Myers-Briggs type quizzes, and I still don't know what I actually want to do with my life.

I'm mid-thirties, reasonably educated but no genius, background in IT (but thoroughly fed up with it), wife and kids (so standard mid-life-crisis response of shagging some teenager not really an option), some experience of running a small business, used to write a bit but never full time, thoroughly and unremittingly fed up and bored. I may have mentioned that.

Any suggestions other than to bow to the inevitable and sink into a sea of cirrhosis? Might be more diverting than expanding the Pants Medley (then again, maybe not ;-)
