Here's a thing, right.

Success over the last two seasons has been based on a gradual, not wholesale, development of our squad. So much so that even though there aren't many left who played against Colchester, it still feels like the same team. Now to see us apparently trying to shop left right and centre for players that weren't as good as us last season makes me slightly concerned for team spirit and where we're heading. Maybe it's that the players that are coming in are mainly cover (Johnson is a left sided midfielder and no Surman, for example). And maybe I'm worrying about nothing. But still, it's a little disconcerting for me.
