Just looked like extreme tension/nerves to me

Look at any manager stood in his tech area and you'll see loads of tics and twitches. I thought Alex was just clenching and unclenching his fists, maybe to deal with the stress. It can't be healthy, watching powerless as your team is bossed all over the pitch.
