and they were running the adverts like mad. Plus as long as people bought the dish and decoder themselves (?300 dish, 150 decoder), the first season was ?2.99 a month for Sunday and Monday games

I used to love watching the ads, because we were part of it. At the time you only heard bits through magazines, and transfer news through match, shoot and teletext.

Plus, all the team shirts didn't have sponsors on it. and I loved seeing butterworth in our kit without the building society logo. Then I'd look over at Coventry's cos they had the same design that season

I liked that kit, it gets a kicking all over the show, but I'm sure that's Limpar. It's all 90's stereotypes, the European man in bed, having a shave, whilst the English louts are probably in the gym or out s**tfaced :)
