You'll need some software though. Get any DVD ripper software and point it at the drive that has the DVD in it. Rip it to an .avi file, quality as high as drive space will allow.

Then get something like Ultra Video Splitter, and edit the file with that: there are probably better editors, as I know UVS tends to throw the lipsync out with every edit, but it's not something I do much of, so I can't recommend anything better.
