With the paid for version you get unlimited listening

I think the free one is 20 hrs a month or something.

You also get do install it on your smartphone (apple or droid) for use out and about, which you don't get with the free one. I use quite a bit - dock my foon on the speakers in my kitchen and listen to righteous tunage while I'm cooking.
