Just back from the game

Nearly got wiped out by a polish guy on my way home, I know cycling is dangerous but Christ, look right when going across traffic.

Bright start, think a ball from Ward, flick Holt, chest Jackson, into Wes and a definite penalty that was brilliantly put away by Holt. Some lovely stuff around the back, the players looked really really confident on the ball. Crofty started slow but got in to it, Wes was everywhere, didn't miss a touch. Fox put in some nice tackles, distribution was good, Martin pushed well down the right. Jackson missed what looked a sitter and I thought Whitbread should have done better from a corner. Only time they came close was a save by Ruddy that was going wide anyway. Solid first half.

Second half we had an awesome 15 minutes. Won every second ball, good patient build up. Jackson missed another good chance and then lost it. I was waiting for the net to bulge when Holt side-stepped, there were other half chances then we got done on the break. Goal went in in slow motion, all two Bristol fans cheered. After that I thought we went in to our shell. We weren't building from the back, Ruddy and Ward started to knock it long and the players looked frustrated. Lansbury came on 20/30 minutes too late but it pushed Wes higher, we got a break from a long ball to Wes, a hint of handball and Lansbury bundled it home. Mental stuff in the stands. Then the confidence came back, some nice stuff down the left, hassled the right back, Surman nips in nutmegs James (time wasting useless w**ker). Game over.

3-1 was a fair score, Bristol will feel hard done by with it being last minute but we were infitely better than them even with 10 men. All I would say is that Jackson needs to work out what he wants to be, a poacher off the shoulder (in which case he needs to sharpen up and start playing off Holt)...or god knows what. At the moment he's utterly devoid of confidence and didn't contribute.

Good game, COYY
