I think Lambert saw him as a big man bench option and cover for Holt........ with the injury To Martin and lack of form of both Jackson and Martin he has played a lot more than even he probably expected.
I know some have moaned at our lack of activity in getting a striker but maybe Lambert just feels that what is out there is not better than what we already have.
Plus more importantly he doesnt want to bring in any big time charlies who would upset the great team spirit we obviously have.
The fact Holt got everyone together to celebrate the goal for Barnett says a lot about the squad.
