as he wanted to see if he could get better somewhere else, so Lambo went out and bought... Crofts?

Then Russell turned round and said he wanted to sign but we removed the offer.

Got to say, that's the way I remember it, could be wrong.

One thing is for sure, if it was Crofts who was bought in to replace him, I am bloody glad Russell stalled as Crofts is 10 times the player Russell is!
