Yeah, I thought it was a good idea
I thought flem was still right for the prem last season, but from Christmas to the end, he wasn't
But everyone thinks its easier to drop into the fizzy from the prem, cos the quality is less (Not sure how that works with West ham at the moment having finished 6th, and are now 7th in the prem, but there you go)
But I really thought it was pretty plain and obvious that with Flem being 33 (I think) and having Doherty, that him and Shacks would be given a chance as a centre back pairing as they are both young and they could mould into the pairing of the next 3 + seasons
Instead Worthington persists with someone thats slowing down, who would never be good enough if we went back up, then brings in a ?2million + player at the back and gives Shackell the chop as well as fleming, to form a steady partnership
Something Shacks and Doherty could have done imo, and it might not have been necessary to get Davenport in
Having said that a 2 milliion pound player is welcome, although we'll probably be gutted when he goes back
