Are doing it to share the knowledge. Fair enough they might get a kick out of being in the know, but if they did, and I'm no psychologist but this makes sence to me, would they get more of a kick out of not sharing it and letting everyone else flounder about?

It's the ones like Hendrikus and Ashton4England, that turn up, let slip a little of "I'm in the know, look at me, I know this" and then stick around milking all the massive attention that that generates that are the ones to ignore.
