Did we do the wrong thing in denying him permission to speak to them?

Do we want him if he doesn't want to be here? Let him talk to them and if he really wants to go he can resign.

Shows respect for what he's done for the club, if he believes its a progression let him talk to them, but at the same time say we'll make you another offer.
