FAO Etuwho... you did say

Dear Sir,

Whilst viewing an NCFC messageboard, I read with great interest an account of the club's very negative response to a request for the independent sale of Grant Holt mugs in aid of the Movember charity.

As you will no doubt be aware, the charity supports Mens Health Awareness with regard to a range of common conditions which can kill or lead to serious health problems if left unchecked.

As a fan and a man I find it inconceivable that the position of NCFC toward this opportunity is so self-centred and profit-driven. That aside, even the most cynical and clinical businessman should at least recognise the ongoing PR opportunity for the club and for Grant Holt in the context of recent allegations made against him through the media in relation to 'cheating'. I would sincerely hope that at this point in the club's history and in the current economic climate that the custodians of the NCFC 'brand' are capable of understanding this concept and demonstrate this by allowing this project to have the club and fans at its very heart.

There is a massive feelgood factor amongst fans at this present time and the opportunity to recall a great day in the club's recent history whilst helping to fund the awareness to save the lives of fathers, brothers, sons MUST surely be allowed to take precedence over to profitability on this occasion. The clear message that the club is prepared to forfeit a limited revenue opportunity (through official merchandising) in favour of social responsibility (sale charity mugs) is a healthy feather to have in the club's cap.

I very much hope that the club will review its position on this issue and afford this worthy project its full support throughout 2011.

Real mugs are for drinking from... not for selling to.

Yours Sincerely
