I think you also have to ask the following questions

what would the attendance be for the clubs above us if they were in our position.

Also you have to consider what our attendance would be if we were in the prem......

You have to think we could fill another tier, especially with the bigger games.

Also worth noting that our average attendance is also being hurt by our capacity.

If we had a bigger ground we could allocate more to the bigger away followings like Leeds and Ipswich.

In terms of size currently I personally rank only the following above us, in no order

Man Utd
Man City
Arsenal
Spurs
Chelsea
Sunderland
Liverpool
Newcastle
Everton
West Ham
Aston Villa
Derby
Leeds
