Or, The Doom Mongers Version...
Lambert was delighted with the performance, saying: "It was a monumental effort when you consider it was my last game here - senior pros not just kids. It was a superb win anyway but the fact is, i haven't got any money to spend and players are being sold above my head"
"Adam Drury is off to Stoke and Zak Whitbread has interested Derby, and for them to
be sold is tremendously disappointing, especially when you remember I will have money to spend at Burnley"
"All the lads signed a "Good Luck" card for me earlier today and I couldn't have asked any more of them. It was an excellent final performance."
Despite the Canaries' promising league position, Lambert is adamant that he remains focused on getting Burnley promoted.
"My target is promotion. If we can achieve that in this league then hopefully I will be in the Burnley job for a little bit longer. Don't ask me about promotion now. Try again in May and I might be able to give you an answer.
"It was good to get a new job - I think that settles it."
Lambert was also pleased with the performance of new striker Aaron Wilbraham.
He said: "I thought he was excellent. He has only just arrived here and is still getting to know the lads. He'll be a great replacement for Holt"
