Short-term goals never make sense in this context

If he's the wrong guy then whether he wins the next three games doesn't change that - just as if Lambert did lose three on the trot it wouldn't change the fact that he's clearly just the perfect manager for our club in our sitch-oo-ayshun.

I've never understood why they don't just back managers or sack them.
