We now have an even bigger mountain of debt
18 million instead of 8 million, Worthy may have been given money to spend but if he had been given more at the start of last season we'd have still been in the prem. This ambition with prudence thing is all well and good if the balance is right but imo the board always lean too much towards the prudent side of the line. This has been perfectly illustrated in the summer when we must have spent less than any other relegated club ever has in attempting to get promoted again. I even heard from a supporters representative who was in attendance at an emergency board meeting before the Leeds match that we have no money left to spend on fees and that includes the Francis money and the parachute payments. If this is true it merely reinforces my feeling that our beloved board are not as wonderful as some believe and serious questions will need to be asked. While I agree that we have moved on in many ways but we are now going backwards as a result of lack of investment in the playing staff in the summer, basically we are still royally f**ked.
