I'd agree if

we were in this spot at the end of the season.

But the curve at the moment is

saved from relegation
nearly get promoted
holding season
get promoted
nearly stay up
dip: struggle to get back into the stride of the lower league (common)

Stay here and you have a point, get promoted, i do.
