Loyalty is forced on players in La Liga. If a club says you're staying and honouring your contract, you have to.

Otherwise the Spanish FA sanction fifa, and players get banned internationally, and also if breach contract in Spain, I think you have to pay back wages you've earnt from the past

It sort of forces players to unite because there's no other real power vacuum. Once a player is forced into staying, they often settle and become fans favourites. That's why you hear a lot of stories in spain about players who've been here or there for 8-10 seasons
