Gibbs and Bertrand
When Kieran Gibbs and Ryan Bertrand were on loan at City I thought that there was little to choose between them. If anything, Bertrand was the slightly better player. How their fortunes have changed. Gibbs went back to Arsenal and played a few first team games, did well, played a few more games and now is in the England squad.
Bertrand has never been back to Chelsea, never played a first team game and is a serial loanee. What a waste of talent.
It shows the differing value given to youth development by Chelsea and Arsenal, although I was surprised to see a couple of youngsters coming on for Chelsea v Sunderland, but then they do have an injury crisis.
