It was never ?2m

The amount offered was around ?1.1m, plus add-ons. We don't have that kind of cash, and much of what we have will be spent on Lisbie and Davenport's wages. What worries me is how late we actually got these players, and how little time the team has to change, bed down and acclimatise to them. If they were with us in pre-season we would have a settled 11 by now.
