We had a teacher, or rather a lab assistant who was like that, but with bees.

He kept bees in the "wild area" at THS. All you had to do to get out of a science lesson was to ask him about his bees and he'd take us outside and show us all and give the class a talk on bees. It worked quite often! Good old Mr Berry!
