Barnett is a good player, but there are any number of reasons why signing him may not be straightforward and rather than fear that it will reflect a lack of ambition should we fail to keep him, I'll take the view that we'll still end up no worse defensively, one way or another. ILWT.'
imo we got barnett to cover nelson's injury and that whitbread bloke i'm not sure exists. great he's doing so well but we don't know if he's for sale, has ambitions with wba in the prem, or is affordable. we've utilised the loan system to keep the team strong and loans aren't that cheap either. had nelson not got injured then we wouldn't have got him. great if we can extend the loan but i won't be critical if we don't sign him for whatever reason. just no way of affording all your successful loan signings. crouch, lita etc
