Liverpool fans
caused the Heysel tragedy - that is, their actions set off the chain of events.
And Liverpool fans caused the Hillsborough tragedy - that is, their fans surged into an already-full pen, ignoring the common-sense option of going to pens on either side.
The families of the dead deserve sympathy, yet the actions of those who caused the crush (Liverpool fans, without doubt) seem to have been forgotten.
