What is the phonetic difference intended to be between "wrath" and "roth"??

In your head, does "roth" rhyme with "Goth" or with "oath"? Does "wrath" rhyme with "Goth" or "north"?

Does it make any difference if one uses RP or Norfolk?

I have long been puzzled about this
