That fat f***ing ref/worthington
I know we lost 6-0 and this seems a bit Souness like, but i honestly believe 2 things are responsible for yesterday and you can say yesterday isn't why we are down but had we won, it would've been why we stayed up so here they are;
1. The ref. Bloody disgraceful decisions, all four of them. I knew it at the time and i know it even more seeing the game on video. Any of them (the worst being Ashton's 'foul') given the correct way and it's 1-1, game on. We would've gone crazy, the players confidence would've gone up and we might well have seen a different story................BUT
2. Holt on Safri off. I've never been one to slag Holt but this was a BIG BIG mistake yesterday. We've not won away all season and we could play for 10000 years and not win with Holt/Francis in midfield away from home. It just wouldn't happen. We were 1-0 down at the time, we NEEDED 2 goals and to not let any in. Holt was not the answer and nobody could've thought he was. Nobody. This isn't a criticism of Holt, it's a criticism of Worthington. What was he thinking? All i could see in my head when he came on was all the other limp away defeats and i instantly gave up hope. I felt like i was at Charlton again when the 3rd went in. It didn't suprise me that it would get worse.
These are my biggest disappointments this morning. Not Francis, not Bentley, not Fleming, not Drury (thought he was ok yesterday) And all in such an important 'must win' game. Gutted.
