"McNally made no apology for giving priority to the interests of season ticket-holders"
"?It was with a heavy heart that we put the prices up last year and, guess what, there may be increases again, if it means we balance the books."
At last we have people running the club who live in the real world.
The fact we spent big to get straight out of LG1 was not as risky as some think.
If we didn't get promoted we would probably have gone into admin anyway.
There was little downside to not spending.
The crowds/income would have dwindled as we sunk to midtable
The upside with increased champs payments from both the prem and TV which is worth at least an extra 5 million over last year plus the increase in income from increased ticket prices.
The plan is also based on the fact we have a shot at hitting the prem which would would probably wipe most of our debt.
(little downside, huge upside)
As McNally says, last years figures are going to be ugly.
The board all pumped in money to keep the club going.
I can't begin to understand how galling it must be when people complain about the price of mars bars or how much casual fans are charged.
The same people who complain that we are not buying players or being successful.
