the message to shacks (and all the other players) is: it doesn't matter how well you play. If you're not one fmy favourites, and we're not winning, then you carry the can.

Is hardly going to inspire much effort from anyone - if you're one of the chosen ones, there's no need to work hard, and if you're not, there's no point.
